Sheldon, Iowa – Village Northwest Unlimited is excited to announce the lineup for their annual Independence Day Celebration scheduled for Friday, July 1. Returning to the outdoor stage for an encore appearance is Moville, Iowa native, Kelsey K. Kelsey K is a young accomplished singer who has opened concerts for acts like Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum and Hunter Hayes. Kelsey K’s CD “Blue Jean Girl” features 10 of Kelsey’s own songs and has yielded three music videos. Kelsey K will take the stage at approximately 7:00 p.m. and again at 8:45 p.m.
The Independence Day Celebration is the largest event of the year at Village Northwest Unlimited. New activities this year include laser tag, additional inflatables, and a 9-Square in the Air game area. The food court opens at 5:00 p.m. featuring vendors including Hy-Vee, Kelly’s Catering, Pizza Ranch and Subway. There are activities for all ages beginning at 6:00 p.m. including carnival games, petting zoo, fire truck rides, pony rides, horse drawn wagon rides, and more. The evening concludes with the area’s largest fireworks display beginning at approximately 10:00 p.m.
If you are up for a group challenge, consider creating a team for the VNU Amazing Race competition. VNU’s Amazing Race will begin at 6:00 p.m. and teams will participate in a scavenger hunt around the Village grounds, collecting clues and items to present to the judges.
