Village Northwest Unlimited (VNU) is pleased to announce that the organization has been named a Top Workplace in the Des Moines Register’s annual Top Workplace list for 2022.
The Top Workplace list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by the Des Moines Register’s employee engagement technology partner, Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey completed by Village staff members uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization including alignment of vision and culture, execution of mission, and connection with staff, just to name a few.
The 24-question survey collects feedback from those who know the organization best: the people who work there. Employee feedback is the sole basis for determining which employers make the Top Workplaces list.
The Village has participated three times in the Des Moines Register’s Top Workplace survey and each time Village employee’s responses to survey questions have resulted in the Village being named a Top Workplace. In the past Village Northwest Unlimited was recognized in 2013 and 2014 as a Top Workplace.
Barry Whitsell, President and CEO, Village Northwest Unlimited commented, “Earning a Top Workplace award is an honor because it is based on feedback from our employees. The Village strives to be a workplace that allows our employees to have a voice and be heard. We are proud our employees recognize the culture and environment we have created at VNU as a place for them to find personal and professional fulfillment in their work. We are constantly striving to find ways to show appreciation to our staff for the valuable work they do each day for people with disabilities and being named a Top Workplace authentically demonstrates our employees feel valued. We are grateful to our staff for the selfless work they perform”
“Being named a Top Workplace is a tremendous honor. The award demonstrates to perspective employees that our staff regards VNU as a quality employer. One that allows individuals to make connections, grow in community and discover their calling. A place where staff are valued and appreciated,” states Brian Robyn, Director of Human Resources.
