Volunteer Coordinator/Marketing & Development Assistant

QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficiency in grammar, spelling, record keeping, and operation of office equipment required.  Experience using Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Publisher) preferred. Experience creating marketing brochures and related materials beneficial. Telephone etiquette and the ability to deal with the general public in a professional manner required.  The ability to organize multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines necessary.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential.  Bachelors degree preferred; will consider experience.

PURPOSE:

Coordinate, organize, and perform the administrative procedures and services necessary to insure effective and efficient operations of the Development Team, which includes: Marketing, Fundraising, Events, the Treasure Chest, and Public Relations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and maintain a positive personal relationship with persons served and staff.
  2. Assist the Director of Development with administrative detail, including but not limited to, donations, memorials, fundraising, and event-planning.
  3. Develop and maintain an effective volunteer program to include recruitment, training, scheduling, etc.
  4. Assist the Director of Marketing with public relations activities including, but not limited to, development of brochures, news releases, newsletter, website updates, social media, and other marketing materials.
  5. Provide support for Treasure Chest managers with correspondence, ordering, financial reports, and other delegated duties.
  6. Adhere to the Mission, Vision, and Values of Village Northwest Unlimited.
  7. Assist in ensuring effective and efficient operations by performing tasks as assigned by the Director of Development or the Director of Marketing.
  8. Maintain regular attendance.
  9. Take a lead role for specific events and/or a supporting role for events as assigned.
  10. Schedule Tours and Presentations for Director of Development and lead tours as needed.
  11. Prepare press releases and articles.
  12. Prepare and share information via social media outlets.
