At 9 AM on June 7th, people around Northwest Iowa will begin racing in Village Northwest Unlimited’s 20th annual Run, Walk, and Roll event. On this special morning, people of all ages and abilities will gather to celebrate inclusion, fitness, and community spirit by participating in a meaningful race that offers more than just a finish line. It offers connection, support, and a reminder that everyone, regardless of ability, deserves to be seen, celebrated, and cheered for.
The Run, Walk, & Roll event consists of a 1-mile walk/wheelchair roll, a 5K, and a 10K race, all routes are wheelchair accessible. Not only is the event an opportunity for participants to interact with one another, but it also brings people from the community to VNU. It is also a fun way to challenge yourself and experience a sense of accomplishment. Whether you’re a seasoned runner looking to hit a new personal record or someone who simply wants to enjoy a stroll alongside your loved ones, there’s something for everyone. Besides, there’s no greater feeling than crossing the finish line after a 3.1-mile or 6.2-mile run through Sheldon!
There’s an undeniable energy that fills the air on race day – music playing, volunteers cheering, and runners encouraging one another with every step. Parents, children, teenagers, or wheelchair users coming together to support VNU - there’s no better way to kick off the summer! This event would not be possible without the generous support of sponsors, but more importantly, it wouldn’t be the same without you. Your participation makes a difference. By showing up, you’re not only embracing a day of fun and fitness but also showing your support for a mission that changes lives. So lace up your tennis shoes, grab a friend, and join the race-day fun!
