Program Substitute

QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience working with adults with disabilities is preferred.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.  An individual's maturity and ability to portray a positive adult image will be considered key qualities for employment.  Must successfully complete in-service training appropriate to their work. 

PURPOSE:

To assist persons served in meeting their individual and developmental needs by providing them with an atmosphere which promotes purpose, privacy, and dignity.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Develop and maintain a positive personal relationship with persons served and staff.

2.Assist with set-up, clean-up, maintenance of area, and implementation of goals.

3.Provide assistance to persons served with personal needs.

4.Willingness to accept his/her share of call-up shifts.

5.Support Mission and Values of Village Northwest Unlimited.

6.Assist in ensuring effective and efficient operation of the program by performing tasks as assigned by the Coordinator of Therapeutic Services and Director of Life Skills.

Must complete required training within specified time frame.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Lifting:  Assist with 1- and 2-person transfers daily, average weight 50 pounds

Other Requirements:      Pushing, Pulling, Fine Motor Skills.

Visual/Auditory requirements:          Ability to adequately interact with staff and persons served.
