Providing presentations on disabilities, medical and educational differences, and social concerns, in an effort to help people understand and accept others.
The kids we’re referring to are irresistible puppets with disabilities, presented by puppeteers from Village Northwest Unlimited in Sheldon, Iowa.
In their attention-grabbing program the puppets present short skits portraying what it’s like to have a disability. As the puppets encourage children and adults alike to share ideas and concerns. Maybe you’ve already met the Kids On The Block, however, we focus on different topics each year. Alos, included with each performance is empathy training and a demonstration of adaptive aids.
The Kids On The Block program is available for elementary schools, 4-H groups, civic organizations, Scout Troops, church groups, nursing homes, etc. The following tops a re currently available:
